First County Bank Contactless Card
What are contactless payments?
Contactless payments allow you to tap or wave your First County Bank Contactless Debit Card over a store checkout terminal without needing to swipe or insert the card. It’s touchless, faster and safer than cash.
Can I use the contactless card for all of my purchases?
The contactless card can be used for purchases and for setting up recurring payments. Certain purchases or transactions may also require your signature or PIN. The card can also be used for online payments, telephone payments and at ATMs.
Where are contactless cards accepted?
Contactless payment availability may vary depending on terminal enablement, merchant preferences, transaction location or purchase amount. Look for the contactless symbol at enabled payment terminals, and simply tap your card to make a purchase. If a terminal doesn’t accept contactless payments, insert your card to utilize the EMV chip, or swipe the magnetic stripe.
Why should I use contactless payments?
Unlike cash, contactless payments provide an electronic record of your purchases.
What to do if I notice suspicious or fraudulent activity on my card?
If you notice any suspicious/ fraudulent activity on your account, notify us immediately by calling the number on the back of your card or contacting our CustomerFirst Contact Center at 203.462.4400 (M-F 8:30am -4:30pm).
If I plan on using my contactless card when traveling do I need to notify the bank before I travel out of state or internationally?
Yes, we strongly recommend that you set a travel notice on any card(s) you plan to use while traveling, so your card access isn’t interrupted. For your protection, we’ll continue to monitor card activity even when a travel notice is set. If you encounter any issues while traveling, we’re here to help.
We also strongly encourage you to ensure your contact information is up to date with the bank. In the event potential fraudulent activity is detected, the bank will attempt to contact you using the contact information on record in our system.
